what football equipment is provided by PYF?

annually certified helmets w/facemasks,

polycarbonate chinstraps and protective mouthpieces.

shoulder pads

7 piece pad set includes: hip, tail, thigh and knee pads.

game jersey (players keep)

game and practice pants and 1 belt.

all equipment is expected to be maintained an retuned at season end, except for team jersey.

what football equipment must falcons or parents provide?

players are required to wear an athletic cup w/support strap.

athletic girdle (for hip and tail pads).

practice jersey, white t shirt and athletic shorts for practice.

WATER, WATER, WATER we recommend at least 32-64 ounces of water for practice, practice normally runs two hours.

(most coaches do not recommend athletic or sweetened drinks)

when and where are practices held?

preseason (3-4 weeks) practices are held mon - fri 5:30-7:30pm held at the PHS practice field (parking is available behind movies 8).

regular season practices are held tues, wed and thurs 5:30-7:30pm

regular season practices are held at the PHS practice field until daylight savings and is then moved to desert sands park.

is practice mandatory?

during the first weeks of practice there is a ten hour minimum conditioning requirement before players may engage in full contact practice(full pads). coaches are especially adament about attendance during the first weeks of practice because of the short training schedule before the first game.

the amount of regular season practices allowed to be missed is determined by the head coach, this is a team sport and requires commitment and effort from all players. while PYF does not recommend missing practice we understand there are unavoidable circumstances.
